Job Summary

Lancashire County Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our Targeted Youth Support team as an Assistant Youth Support Worker. This part-time role involves working with young people in the Wyre & Fylde District, providing high-quality informal education opportunities to promote their personal and social development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver core youth work, including detached/outreach working, special educational needs & disability support, and safe spaces for young people.
  • Support the development of young people's skills and attributes, focusing on personal and social development rather than problem-solving.
  • Work collaboratively with the Targeted Youth Support team to deliver a range of programs and services, including LGBTQ+ groups and mental health initiatives.
  • Contribute to the prevention and early intervention/early help agenda for Lancashire County Council.

Requirements

  • Enthusiasm, organisation, and passion for working with young people.
  • Ability to work in an evening environment, typically between 6:30-9:30pm.
  • Willingness to undertake a level 2 youth work qualification, with support from Lancashire County Council.
