We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team at LGC Group, specializing in protein metrology. As a key member of our Protein Mass Spectrometry team, you will contribute to the development and validation of analytical methods to deliver NML measurement research programs for government and private sector R&D contract commitments.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver high-quality research and development work to meet quality, time, and budget requirements.
- Develop and implement proteins and peptides metrology projects, with a focus on protein structural characterization.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders and collaborators to build and extend metrology networks.
- Deliver ad-hoc research commercial projects and report results.
- PhD or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
- Extensive knowledge of protein structure and dynamics.
- Hands-on experience with HDX-MS, ion mobility mass spectrometry, native MS, CIU, and crosslinking for protein structural analysis.
- Experience in sample preparation approaches and hyphenated mass spectrometry for protein quantification is desirable.
- Troubleshooting and method development skills.
- Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and software for mass spectrometry data analysis.
- Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation related to protein mass spectrometry.
- Enthusiastic and innovative scientist with a strong passion for protein metrology.
- Self-reliant and self-motivated team player with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work on long-term and short-term projects, with a focus on quality and delivery.
- Attention to detail and a positive attitude to learning.
