About the Role: The FPGA division operates within the global Productivity Engineering sector, dedicated to delivering and maintaining FPGA platforms at Arm. These platforms facilitate the debugging and deployment of cutting-edge pre-silicon verification methodologies across various market segments, including mobile, server, IoT, and automotive.

Position Overview: As an FPGA Verification Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to meet the FPGA prototyping needs of complex and highly configurable systems. You will collaborate with both local and cross-site teams to fulfill verification objectives. Key tasks will involve developing test plans, executing testbench verification, conducting validation checks on FPGA platforms, and troubleshooting test failures. Additionally, you will play a role in enhancing the methodologies utilized by the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct verification of subsystems, peripherals, and IPs for FPGA prototyping, both in simulation and on the FPGA platform.
  • Collaborate with design teams and FPGA users to debug test failures and issues.
  • Automate workflows and methodologies for deployment to the user community.
  • Provide support for FPGA services to users.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency in hardware verification languages such as System Verilog/Verilog and scripting languages like Python/TCL/Shell.
  • Experience with C/C++ for testcase development.
  • Familiarity with all verification stages: requirement gathering, methodology creation, test plan development, testbench implementation, documentation, and support.
  • Experience in validating sophisticated SoC products with multicore and high-speed interfaces like PCIe, DDR, USB, and Ethernet.
  • Understanding of Arm-based systems, including SoC architecture and AMBA protocols.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Low-level programming experience in C and Assembler.
  • Knowledge of advanced verification techniques such as assertions and property checking.
  • Experience debugging System and IP level projects using tools like Verdi or Visualizer.
  • Familiarity with FPGA flows involving AMD Xilinx, including compilation, debugging, and performance implementation.
  • Basic understanding of Linux OS and kernels is advantageous.
