Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Operations Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and functionality of our hospice building and shops. This is a critical role that requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks on the building, including repairs, replacements, and preventative maintenance
  • Maintain the exterior grounds, ensuring they are safe and well-maintained
  • Perform maintenance tasks at our hospice shops, ensuring they are operational and compliant with health and safety regulations
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff and visitors
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests, providing timely and effective solutions
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including schedules, repairs, and replacements

Requirements

  • Previous experience in maintenance, preferably in a healthcare environment
  • Knowledge of basic maintenance techniques, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
  • Ability to operate maintenance tools effectively, including power tools and equipment
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring all tasks are completed to a high standard
  • Excellent communication skills, able to work effectively with staff, patients, and visitors
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in project management, including planning, coordination, and execution
  • Knowledge of sustainability practices, including energy efficiency and waste reduction
  • Negotiation skills, able to effectively communicate with suppliers and contractors
  • Occupancy and space planning knowledge, ensuring efficient use of facilities
