Position Overview

Senior Rhinology Surgical Fellow

We invite applications for the role of Senior Rhinology Surgical Fellow within the ENT Surgery department. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in advanced training and enhance surgical competencies in Rhinology, working alongside a team of esteemed consultants.

Key Responsibilities

The Fellow will serve as a pivotal member of the ENT department, focusing on comprehensive training in Rhinology. Responsibilities include:

  • Active participation in clinical duties, including the management of patient clinics and surgical lists.
  • Collaboration with consultants to maximize educational and clinical experiences.
  • Oversight of clinical and theatre sessions during consultant absences.
  • Engagement in a structured on-call rota, providing support for emergency cases and supervising junior medical staff.
  • Involvement in departmental meetings, research initiatives, and audit activities.

This fellowship encompasses all facets of Rhinology, excluding skull base procedures, and is based within a dynamic healthcare environment.

Qualifications

Essential Criteria

  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
  • Full GMC registration with a valid license to practice.
  • Postgraduate FRCS (ORL-HNS) or equivalent qualification.

Experience

Essential Criteria

  • A minimum of five years as a Type 1 (NTN/VTN) Specialist Registrar in ENT or equivalent experience.

Motivation

Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrated commitment to the field of Rhinology.

Management Skills

Essential Criteria

  • Willingness to engage in minor managerial responsibilities, such as rota organization.

Teaching and Training

Essential Criteria

  • Evidence of a strong interest in teaching and training future medical professionals.
