Medical Engineer

This role is for a Band 5 Medical Engineer to provide technical and engineering support as part of the Clinical Engineering service across the Trust. The successful candidate will be expected to assist other technologists and engineers in locating and tracking devices, servicing of medical equipment, carrying out basic servicing and planned maintenance, as well as first-line troubleshooting.
Main Duties- Maintenance of registered devices in the Clinical Engineering database
- Support with technical, electrical, mechanical, integration, computer systems aligned with medical devices
- Coordinate where appropriate maintenance of contracted medical devices as per service requirements
- Work collaboratively as a Team in Clinical Engineering and across all interdependent areas accordingly
- Working off site will be required as part of the service
North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust is part of North Central London integrated care system, consisting of the NHS and Local authority organisations in Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield, and Haringey. Person SpecificationQualifications and Training
- Degree level qualification in Engineering (medical or biomedical engineering) BSc, Beng.
- Knowledge of medical devices and be able to identify medical devices
Desirable
- Registration as Clinical Technologist
Knowledge
- Knowledge of electrical and electronic servicing, electro-mechanical and computer systems.
- General knowledge of computer systems.
- A practical experience in Medical engineering
Experience
- Experience in applying workshop technology to patient critical equipment and techniques in healthcare
- Understanding of common patient and staff risks arising from equipment failure
