Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical/Counselling/Forensic Psychologist Therapist to join our team at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will provide specialist psychological assessment and therapy to men detained in prison who are at risk of suicide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide highly specialist, psychological assessment and therapy to patients in the context of a clinical trial
  • Offer advice and consultation on patient care to non-psychologist colleagues and other agencies
  • Work autonomously within professional guidelines and the team's policies and procedures
  • Contribute to the provision of research team services and fulfillment of research priorities and objectives
Requirements
  • Postgraduate/Doctorate level training in applied psychology (Clinical/Forensic/Counselling Psychology) as approved by the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Registered with HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist or BABCP accreditation as a CBT therapist
  • Experience of specialist psychological assessment, formulation, and treatment of clients within adult mental health care settings
  • Knowledge and expertise in providing psychological therapy to patients with severe mental health problems at risk of suicide
