About the Role:

Pareto Facilities Management is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis. In this role, you will be responsible for completing Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) tasks, ensuring that all building systems operate efficiently. While the focus is on electrical expertise, the ideal candidate will also have a solid understanding of mechanical and building services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Build and maintain effective relationships with customers and internal/external suppliers by resolving service issues.
  • Maintenance Service Requests: Own maintenance service requests from submission to completion and feed back to the client and Facilities Management team. The first line of response for all associated M&E and Fabric issues.
  • Statutory Compliance: Carry out statutory compliance tasks to all facility-related services.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain records and update computer-based management systems.
  • Quality and Budget: Ensure works are completed to a high standard, within budget and key client requirements are met.
  • Reporting and Communication: Give regular reports and updates to the Pareto FM Account Manager and the client.
  • Contractor Management: Support and manage subcontractors carrying out routine and emergency breakdown maintenance both in and out of hours. Ensure that RAMS are appropriate, and contractors are complying with them at all times. Check and verify all work has been completed.
  • Technical Advice: Where requested provide technical M&E advice and support to the client.
  • Collaboration:
  • Liaise with other professionals undertaking project work and contribute site and maintenance information where required.
  • Best Practice: Liaise with the client and other Pareto FM staff to develop and disseminate national best practice in M&E maintenance and procedures.
  • Site and Property Teams: Meet with and participate in site and property teams and provide technical input in other areas e.g. security, health and safety, risk assessments, utility infrastructures, counter disaster planning and other appropriate initiatives.
  • Communication: Consult and inform the client of work that is taking place across the site. Always try to work around lab testing if possible and ensure there is minimal downtime of lab operations.
  • Adaptability: Undertake other works of a similar nature as required and directed by the client and Pareto FM Account Manager.
  • Innovation: Have a good eye for innovation and improvement of existing systems and processes.
  • Problem Solving: Be the go-to person for the client when an issue arises.
  • Flexibility: Must be prepared to 'fill the gaps' and step into other Facilities Management roles in times of constrained resource.
  • On-Call Rota: Be part of the on-call rota – Approx 1 week a month.

Competencies:

  • Electrical Qualifications: AM2 & NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation/Maintenance.
  • Electrical Standards: BS7671 18th edition.
  • Design and Planning: Able to design new systems and additions to existing installations.
  • Risk Management: Must be familiar with the general risks and hazards associated with building work including asbestos.
  • Compliance and Governance: A great understanding of legal compliance within maintenance and Facilities management; as well as how to achieve and maintain it to a high standard.
  • IT Skills: PC literate and competent in use of MS Office Package including MS Excel and MS Word. An ideal candidate has experience with security system programs such as CCTV and access control and CAFM systems.
  • Problem Solving and Maintenance: Able to independently problem solve and undertake general maintenance tasks to a high quality.
  • Contractor Supervision: Must be happy to supervise and manage contractors.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Willing to learn and understand our systems on site: fire alarm, heating system, AC, compressed air etc.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Some knowledge of mechanical engineering/plumbing and building construction.
  • Communication and Feedback: Excellent communicative, and feedback skills.

  • Inspection and Testing Qualification (2391/2394/2395)
