Job Overview

As a Control Systems Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the creation and enhancement of leading-edge control systems for our extensive range of aggregate processing and material handling machinery. This role is tailored for individuals with a strong background in hardware design, schematic development, and component selection, ensuring that all designs meet high standards of quality and functionality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the hardware selection and design process for control systems in alignment with our New Product Development (NPD) strategy.
  • Develop comprehensive system schematics and 3D harness designs utilizing SolidWorks Electrical.
  • Ensure compliance of new designs with applicable equipment standards.
  • Collaborate with the aftermarket team to provide support for both existing and new products.
  • Design solutions that prioritize simplicity, functionality, and quality.
  • Manage the timely development of all assigned design projects.
  • Deliver high-quality design outputs, including detailed calculations, documentation, and accurate Bills of Materials (BOM).
  • Engage with Sales and customers to clarify product specifications and requirements.
  • Create user-friendly and innovative control system interfaces for our clients.

Core Activities

  • Focus on new product development while managing design costs effectively.
  • Provide electrical troubleshooting support as needed.
  • Stay updated on relevant standards to ensure compliance in design methodologies and documentation.
  • Work closely with other engineering teams to gather clear requirements for control systems.
  • Offer electrical training and assistance to customers when necessary.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to optimize costs in electrical projects.
  • Adhere to company policies and safety regulations at all times.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of practical design experience.
  • Proficiency in schematic drafting is essential.
  • Strong background in control system architecture and hardware selection.
  • Experience with both mobile and industrial hardware and software systems.
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks Electrical or E3 is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of ISO and BS Standards relevant to electrical equipment.
  • Solid understanding of electrical engineering principles, including AC and DC systems.
  • Proven experience in hardware design within heavy equipment or similar industries.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar electrical drafting software.
  • Ability to utilize test instruments and comprehend their functions.
