Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Building Surveyor to join our Asset Delivery team at HOME GROUP. As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will play a key role in the delivery of our asset programme, working closely with stakeholders to maintain high-quality homes and drive long-term investment plans for refurbishment and remediation properties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver our programme of housing, refurbishment, and remediation works to properties, ensuring governance approvals, budget control, and objectives are met, including time, cost, revenue, value, quality, and safety on site.
- Review our portfolio and ensure investment plans are in place for each individual site and estate, liaising with internal colleagues and key stakeholders to work up programmes and budgets.
- Develop our long-term survey requirements to meet future business needs, including supporting survey programmes and ensuring quality assurance is high and data collected is accurate.
- Ensure a good commercial understanding of our assets by reviewing, evaluating, and carrying out financial appraisals of schemes, achieving the best possible outcome with realistic solutions.
- Drive positive working relationships with contractors, influencing appropriately to ensure a win-win outcome around complex schemes.
Requirements:
- Experience of working on projects (private or public sector) as a Building/Projects Surveyor or similar, including investigating, diagnosing, and conducting complex property condition surveys, specifying remediation works, and working with external partners.
- Experience of managing surveying teams and working within a construction environment.
- MRICS or MCIOB, accredited Building Surveying degree or equivalent, and strong experience in building surveying and investment planning built up through your working profession.
- Current knowledge of building construction, design, and CDM requirements, as well as relevant codes of practice, building regulations, health and safety legislation, standards, and materials.
- An eye for detail, be a great influencer, and have a creative spark to think outside the box on how things can be done more efficiently.
What We Offer:
- A full-time, 37.5-hour-per-week role, Monday to Friday, with flexible hybrid working arrangements.
- A competitive salary, circa £55,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus great benefits, including a Health Cash Plan.
