Position Overview

HENI is seeking a leader for a prestigious Charitable Arts Foundation.

The Foundation is dedicated to the enhancement of education and the dissemination of valuable knowledge related to architecture, particularly modern architecture, design, and associated fields. It also focuses on the preservation of its archive and the establishment or support of a museum or art gallery.

The Chief Executive Officer will direct and manage all facets of the Foundation's initiatives, which aim to safeguard and promote the legacy of a distinguished architect renowned for transformative contributions to modern architecture and design. This role necessitates a profound appreciation and comprehension of the architect's work and philosophy. The successful candidate will be tasked with advocating the Foundation's vision, overseeing its operations, and ensuring the sustained success and relevance of its programs and initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership and Strategic Direction

  • Formulate and execute strategic plans to further the Foundation's goals and ensure a sustainable and diversified revenue model where applicable.
  • Establish effective systems to monitor progress and regularly assess program components to measure successes that can be effectively communicated to the board, funders, and other stakeholders.
  • Act as the Foundation's representative in public forums, enhancing its public profile and promoting its initiatives.
  • Guide, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.

Program and Project Oversight

  • Supervise, develop, and ensure thorough evaluation of educational, exhibition, and research programs aligned with the Foundation's mission.
  • Forge partnerships with other institutions and organizations to amplify the Foundation's impact.

Preservation and Archival Management

  • Oversee the preservation, maintenance, development, and public accessibility of the Foundation's archive.

Financial and Operational Oversight

  • Ensure the financial stability of the Foundation through effective budgeting, fundraising, and resource management.
  • Manage the Foundation's daily operations, including staff oversight and administrative responsibilities.
  • Guarantee compliance with Foundation policies, procedures, and other charitable requirements.
  • Establish and uphold high governance standards to ensure decisions align with the Foundation's strategy and that it remains compliant with all relevant statutory and regulatory obligations.

Outreach and Community Engagement

  • Collaborate with Trustees to develop and manage an external communications strategy.
  • Encourage collaborations with other institutions, organizations, or philanthropic entities to broaden the Foundation's opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced degree in Architecture, Art History, Museum Studies, or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience in a leadership capacity within a relevant cultural, educational, or architectural organization.
  • In-depth knowledge of and passion for the architect's contributions to architecture and design.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic planning, project management, and team leadership.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and public speaking abilities.
  • Capacity to work collaboratively and cultivate strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
