We are seeking a highly skilled Womenswear Designer to join our team at The Retail Partnership Ltd. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating on-trend, forward-thinking yet commercial womenswear designs that meet the needs of our premium fashion brand.
Main Responsibilities:
- Design Development: Create innovative and stylish designs for our jersey and woven products, staying ahead of the curve in terms of fashion trends and consumer preferences.
- Trend Research: Conduct thorough research to identify emerging trends and stay informed about the latest fashion developments, both domestically and internationally.
- Collaboration: Work closely with our fabric team to implement direction and innovation for the season, ensuring that our designs are not only aesthetically pleasing but also commercially viable.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with internal and external teams to ensure seamless execution of designs and meet deadlines.
- Sampling and Production: Oversee the development of all sampling, ensuring that deadlines are met and products are of the highest quality.
Requirements:
- Fabric Sourcing: Possess knowledge of fabric sourcing and the ability to utilize this expertise to drive innovation and cost-effectiveness.
- Commercial Experience: Proven experience in a commercial environment, with a strong understanding of the high street, trends, and the ability to anticipate new trends.
- Supplier Experience: Previous experience working with suppliers, particularly in a retailer head office setting, is essential.
- CAD and Illustration Skills: Possess good CAD and illustration skills, with the ability to present ideas through design boards.
- Personality and Attitude: Demonstrate a hands-on, can-do attitude, with a fun personality and the ability to inspire others.
