About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Biomedical Scientist to join our Immunology Laboratory team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality diagnostic immunology services to patients across the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct complex immunological tests and assays to diagnose and monitor patients with autoimmune and allergic disorders
  • Develop and implement new laboratory procedures and protocols to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Collaborate with clinicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
  • Participate in quality control and assurance activities to maintain accreditation standards
  • Provide training and supervision to junior staff members
Requirements
  • State registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • MSc or equivalent academic achievement in a relevant field
  • Post-registration specialty training in immunology
  • Significant experience in a diagnostic immunology laboratory
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
