Senior Indirect Tax Specialist

This position is perfect for a Senior Indirect Tax Specialist looking to join a prominent global organization with a substantial tax department.

If you possess experience in Australian GST and are currently based in a major city, this opportunity is worth considering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the punctual and precise filing of Australian VAT/GST returns and other indirect tax submissions;
  • Ensure the timely payment and documentation of applicable VAT/GST obligations;
  • Serve as the primary liaison with Outsourced Service Providers and Group Finance;
  • Prepare VAT/GST returns and review submissions made by Outsourced Service Providers;
  • Conduct month-end reconciliations of VAT accounts and necessary journal entries;
  • Collaborate with Group Finance and Outsourced Service Providers to maintain the accuracy of VAT/GST data;
  • Identify compliance risks or discrepancies (e.g., erroneous invoice entries) and implement corrective measures;
  • Recognize and execute enhancements to the organization's VAT/GST compliance procedures;
  • Assist in the deployment of indirect tax technology;
  • Support the Indirect Tax Manager with VAT/GST registrations and groupings;

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 2+ years of VAT experience in an internal capacity
  • Comprehensive understanding of VAT principles and concepts
  • Proficient in Advanced Excel, including Vlookups and Pivot Tables
  • Familiarity with place of supply and compliance regulations
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
