As an Assistant Buyer, you'll have the opportunity to kick-start your buying career in a fast-paced environment. You'll work closely with our senior buyers to select and negotiate product ranges, manage supplier relationships, and analyze trading performance.

To support your development, you'll have the chance to complete a Level 4 apprenticeship in Buying & Merchandising after 3 months of joining the team (subject to eligibility).

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage supplier relationships in line with category strategy
  • Select and negotiate product ranges and pricing
  • Monitor competition to ensure competitive pricing
  • Analyze trading performance and recommend actions to drive business growth
  • Support senior buyers in negotiating product ranges, including cost pricing, additional terms, exclusivity, distribution, and stock availability
  • Pricing product ranges in line with agreed category CPI targets
Requirements
  • 1-2 years' experience in a buying function (Assistant Buyer or Administrator) with a strong working knowledge of technical products
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Organized, analytical, and numerate with good judgment
  • Strong commercial awareness and customer needs understanding
  • Marketing/Merchandising/Retail/Business Degree
