Senior Residential Childcare Professional

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Residential Childcare Worker & Portfolio Lead to join our team at Salford City Council. As a key member of our Route 29 Service, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to young people aged 12-17 who are on the edge of care, in care, or at risk of placement instability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mentor and support a team of residential childcare workers, promoting best practices and a therapeutic approach to daily interactions.
- Implement strategies that promote emotional and psychological well-being, tailoring care to the unique needs of each child.
- Help foster a safe, inviting home atmosphere where every child can thrive.
- Collaborate with other professionals to ensure comprehensive, holistic care that supports all aspects of a child's development.
Requirements:
- A solid background in residential childcare, with hands-on experience in supporting managing the complexities of a children's home.
- A deep-seated passion for using therapeutic approaches in the care of young people.
- A Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is essential.
