Job Title: Head of Manufacturing

Frontier Resourcing is seeking an experienced Head of Manufacturing to lead our client's manufacturing operations within the Defence industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and manage manufacturing processes, encompassing Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Repair & Overhaul, and leadership of associated value streams.
  • Ensure new products are introduced to production effectively, technology transfer projects are executed with a focus on successful production ramp-up, and production activities are managed with a focus on quality, cost, delivery, and safety.
  • Provide leadership and management oversight to the manufacturing department, leading the development, implementation, and documentation of manufacturing strategies, policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing team across manufacturing engineering, production, repair, and overhaul, and value stream management.
  • Lead the Manufacturing Engineering team, developing operational concepts and models for the Manufacturing Engineering organisation in line with relevant standards.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes, leading new product introductions and technology transfers within the production environment.
  • Manage daily production operations to meet production schedules and targets, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Establish, manage, and optimize value stream activities to enhance product flow and reduce waste.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed, developing and managing the manufacturing budget to ensure cost control and financial performance.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the manufacturing department, leading initiatives to improve manufacturing processes, on-time delivery performance, and product quality.

Requirements:

  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with experience in manufacturing operations and process improvement.
  • Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing engineering, production, and repair & overhaul processes.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective manufacturing strategies, policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Experience in managing high-performing teams and developing talent.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to monitor KPIs and implement corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
