Job Overview

As the Vice President of EMEA Controls - Governance & Control Project Manager, you will play a crucial role within the EMEA Regional Governance team, overseeing the cross-line of business governance framework that ensures compliance with regulatory standards and internal governance best practices. You will support senior leadership in fulfilling their regulatory and governance responsibilities and will be instrumental in managing key regional committees, including the EMEA Management Committee.

This role offers the chance to engage with regional governance committees, emphasizing governance, operational risk, and controls across various business lines and functions. Your responsibilities will include managing governance-related programs and projects, as well as leading one of the regional governance committees. These initiatives are driven by regulatory requirements, internal expectations, and the pursuit of best practices. Frequent communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders across the organization will be essential, along with preparing comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead one of the regional governance committees, collaborating closely with the Chair to shape agendas and oversee the committee's operations.
  • Coordinate and manage workstreams within regional governance and operational risk projects that have a global impact.
  • Drive continuous enhancements to the regional governance framework.
  • Engage with key stakeholders across the organization to develop and implement changes to the governance and operational risk framework, including those in Corporate Functions and various lines of business.
  • Provide regular updates on program progress to senior management.
  • Ensure effective governance by partnering with Control Managers to maintain a robust escalation framework and deliver clear messaging to senior management.
  • Build a strong network of internal relationships to support the delivery of regulatory obligations.
  • Maintain Governance Standards and Procedures, working across business and control partners to identify gaps and lead change initiatives.
  • Continuously review and enhance processes to identify opportunities for quality and efficiency improvements, demonstrating a commitment to best governance practices.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on controls, capable of presenting information clearly and professionally in both written and oral formats.
  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure; comfortable working independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Effective time management skills, capable of assessing situations quickly and managing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the capacity to interpret data and summarize key insights.
  • Able to navigate complex issues simultaneously and learn new topics rapidly.
  • Team-oriented individual who collaborates effectively with colleagues at all levels and takes accountability for results.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in project management is advantageous.
  • Professional experience in financial services, particularly in supporting senior management governance.
