Marine Engineer Job Description

Marine Resources is excited to represent a renowned superyacht tender company on the South Coast, known for their exceptional standards.

We are seeking experienced Marine Engineers to join the team as part of the company's growth plan. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical engineering, with a focus on new-build marine engineering.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Install and commission machinery and equipment on new build projects, including main machinery.
  2. Set up and configure CANbus control systems and NMEA2000 networks.
  3. Install and commission hydraulic systems.
  4. Lead projects, planning work on the vessel, checking information and stock, and meeting timescales.
  5. Fabricate custom parts and plumbing components using machine tools and TIG welding.
Requirements:
  1. Proven experience in new build marine engineering, both mechanical and electrical.
  2. Marine engineering qualifications are a plus.
  3. Experience with electronic injection marine diesel engines and drive installs (e.g. Yanmar / Volvo / Mercruiser / stern drives and water jets).
  4. Knowledge of marine navigation equipment installation.
  5. Ability to work independently on a vessel engineering project, planning own work and checking stock and information.
