This role is essential in providing industry-leading support, servicing, and repairs to our esteemed range of superyacht tenders. The successful candidate will have a significant impact on maintaining the exceptional standard of our fleet currently in operation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for working on a diverse range of vessels currently in operation, where they will provide industry-leading support, servicing, and repairs to the fleet of superyacht tenders. While the primary focus will be on Aftersales support and refits, there may also be a need to collaborate closely with our production engineering team and assist with new builds as and when required.
Our Marine Engineers manage machinery and equipment installation in our tenders, including plumbing, electrical work, electronic systems, and final vessel commissioning. This versatile role requires a deep understanding of marine engineering for new builds and can be tailored for Mechanical or Electrical Engineers, with cross-trade proficiency being a valuable asset.
We are seeking individuals who are enthusiastic, dependable, and meticulous, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will possess several years of relevant work experience.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide technical assistance to the Aftersales Coordinators and customers via phone, email, or in-person meetings.
• Develop a deep understanding of the company's products and the operation of each model.
• Provide on-location technical assistance, maintenance, and repair services, frequently in distant international locations, while operating within constrained schedules and challenging environments.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues through troubleshooting and OEM customer support channels.
• Assist the Aftersales team with project planning by providing estimates for hours, parts, and possible scope expansion.
• Document all work and communicate with the appropriate project stakeholders through designated channels.
• Generate post-visit reports and suggest lists of potential future work.
• Fall back into the production team and assist with new builds as and when required.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
• A strong background in diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues in small to mid-sized leisure craft.
• Experience in new-build marine engineering, both mechanical and electrical.
• Proof of marine engineering qualifications is a benefit.
• Experience with electronic injection marine diesel engines and drive installs (e.g. Yanmar / Volvo / stern drives and water jets).
• Experience with CANbus distribution systems and marine navigation equipment.
• Experience travelling and working overseas, while being able to attend trips at short notice with occasional long working hours. Some weekend work will be required.
• Multi-skilled in a range of boat building tasks and familiar with composite construction.
• Ability to be independent on a vessel engineering project – planning own work and checking stock and information.
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a safe and productive manner.
