BAM Nuttall is seeking a skilled and driven Lead Commercial Strategist to join our team within the RIIOT2 Framework. This role involves overseeing a diverse range of projects primarily located in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.

Your Responsibilities

As a Lead Commercial Strategist, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitating effective communication with the Framework Director, commercial managers, project teams, and the Divisional Commercial Manager.
  • Preparing management reports for presentation to the senior leadership team.
  • Overseeing staff-related matters, including succession planning, recruitment, development, and retention strategies.
  • Engaging with key supply chain partners through pre-contract meetings, contract evaluations, and contributions to subcontract documentation.
  • Ensuring audits are conducted and feedback is provided to enhance business processes.
  • Offering commercial insights during interactions with clients and their representatives.
  • Conducting regular meetings with senior client representatives and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Providing commercial guidance to commercial managers regarding project-related issues and contributing to area commercial discussions and reviews.
  • Participating in discussions regarding project performance and offering strategic commercial input.
  • Assisting in the identification and management of disputes.
  • Producing and negotiating insurance claims with representatives from insurance companies.
  • Negotiating terms and engaging legal and commercial consultants while monitoring their accounts.
  • Reviewing subcontract documentation and contributing to its preparation.
Who We Are Looking For
  • A proven track record as a Lead Commercial Strategist or in a similar role, managing multiple projects with at least 4 years of experience.
  • Experience in Joint Ventures.
  • Membership in a Professional Institution or actively pursuing membership with ICES or a similar organization.
  • A collaborative mindset with a willingness to support colleagues.
  • A degree in a relevant field such as Commercial, Construction, or Project Management is preferred but not mandatory.
