Stroud District Council is seeking a highly motivated and experienced ecologist to join its Development Management service's specialist environmental team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing ecological advice on Development Management issues, including planning applications, Biodiversity Net Gain, and Habitats Regulations. The role will involve working closely with colleagues, applicants, and the general public to ensure the Council meets its statutory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of the planning system and be able to provide expert written advice. The Council is committed to safeguarding the welfare of vulnerable adults, young people, and children, and all applicants will be subject to DBS checks. The successful candidate will be the lead officer in biodiversity within the service, promoting and enhancing the rich biodiversity interests of the district. The role will involve providing ecological advice on a wide range of planning applications and pre-application inquiries, ensuring the Council meets its statutory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the planning system and be able to provide expert written advice to colleagues, applicants, and the general public.
