Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated team member with a keen eye for detail and strong analytical and organizational abilities. The ideal candidate will thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines to ensure that the application being tested meets the standards of the organization.

A solid understanding of Oracle Cerner EPR functionalities and clinical workflows is required. Proficiency in scripting and testing Cerner Millennium applications, including SR/RFCs, is crucial. Candidates should possess a strong foundation in software testing principles and methodologies, preferably aligned with ISTQB standards.

Although the primary location is at Paddington, the role will involve travel to various sites as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning

- Collect test requirements from intricate and highly technical project specifications and develop Test specifications and Test Scripts.

- Ensure all Test Scripts are accurately created and stored in the designated test repository.

- Generate and maintain valid test data necessary for executing the Test Scripts.

- Assist Senior Testers and the Test Manager by providing realistic estimates for all testing activities.

Test Execution

- Execute all test scripts meticulously according to the Test Plan and Test Schedule.

- Oversee and manage witness testing of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by end users to ensure comprehensive test execution.

- Verify that the coverage of test execution aligns with the agreed-upon levels.

- Regularly update the traceability matrix to accurately reflect the status of test execution.

Defect Management & Maintenance

- Ensure all defects are documented and entered accurately, including necessary test steps, into the defect tracking and management tool as per project agreements.

- Develop and maintain manual Regression Test Packs.

- Collaborate with third-party suppliers and other IT departments to ensure adherence to Quality Assurance standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Education/Qualifications

Essential

  • A graduate degree in Engineering or Computer Science, along with 1 to 2 years of practical experience in a software testing environment.

Desirable

  • ISTQB/ISEB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience in the NHS or a healthcare organization working with healthcare systems.
  • Familiarity with Cerner applications such as Cerner OCS, Cerner PAS, Firstnet, and Surginet.
  • Proven experience in creating Test Specifications and Test Scripts.
  • Experience in logging and retesting defects within a defect management system.

Desirable

  • Experience with open-source testing tools.
  • Basic understanding of IT infrastructure and networking issues.
