About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment. As a Mechanical Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading projects from post-tender to post-contract award, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend post-tender/pre-contract review meetings with clients and main contractors to discuss and agree contract scope, commercial, and contractual matters.
  • Conduct initial equipment checks alongside the design team and advise on any concerns to avoid procurement, programming, or financial implications.
  • Develop equipment procurement and buying schedules for allocated contracts, sending out enquiries to suppliers and subcontractors for completeness and better buying purposes.
  • Place subcontract and material orders to satisfy contract requirements, ensuring technical, program, cost, and quality compliance.
  • Monitor site labor and record site activities, numbers of operatives/subcontractors, and cost checks against tender estimates.
Requirements
  • Experience as a Mechanical Project Manager from a Building Services background.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
What We Offer
  • Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 depending on experience.
  • Office working hours: Monday to Friday, inclusive, with a 1-hour lunch break.
  • Holidays: 24 days plus 8 days statutory leave per annum.
