Nurse Led Catheter Clinic Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Nurse Led Catheter Clinic Practitioner to join our team at NELFT North East London Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload of patients with long-term urethral/suprapubic urinary catheters, providing planned and unplanned catheter care, and working independently to ensure all patients receive comprehensive assessments, targeted education, and regular follow-up appointments.
Main Duties- Provide catheter care to patients requiring urgent and non-urgent intervention, including collecting specimens, performing re-catheterisation, and triaging urgent calls.
- Arrange patient follow-up appointments, respond to general enquiries, and provide education as required.
- Work independently with a caseload of patients, ensuring all receive comprehensive assessments, targeted education, and planned regular follow-up appointments.
- Ensure evidence-based, high-quality, safe, and effective clinical care is provided to all service users.
- Oversee the booking of transport as per patient requirements.
- Ensure the service has adequate supplies for the smooth running of clinics and home visits.
- Assess the needs of a defined client group, plan and implement client-centred interventions, evaluate treatment to measure progress, and ensure clinical effectiveness.
- Identify specific education needs of individual patients and carers and facilitate meeting those needs.
- Act as a positive role model and resource for all staff, disseminating clinical skills and knowledge.
- Deliver a client-focused service that promotes good customer service and effective working relationships.
