Band 7 Nurse Led Catheter Clinic Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced and skilled nurse to lead our nurse-led catheter clinic, providing high-quality care to patients with long-term urethral or suprapubic urinary catheters. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the clinic, leading a team of nurses, and ensuring that patients receive comprehensive assessments, targeted education, and planned follow-up appointments.
Main Responsibilities- Lead the nurse-led catheter clinic, ensuring that patients receive evidence-based, high-quality care.
- Manage a caseload of patients, conducting comprehensive assessments, providing education, and arranging follow-up appointments.
- Supervise and mentor nurses within the clinic, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement clinical protocols and guidelines to ensure safe and effective care.
- Collaborate with hospital urology consultants and specialists to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Establish and maintain effective communication and relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Participate in clinical meetings and case conferences, presenting detailed information and contributing to decision-making.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by senior staff.
- First-level registered nurse with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
- Postgraduate diploma in urology nursing or equivalent experience.
- Management training or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience as a nurse in a band 6 post or equivalent within a relevant clinical area.
- Experience of undertaking advanced practitioner-level physical examination and assessment skills.
- Extensive post-registration experience of managing several types of catheterizations/urology problems.
- Sufficient personal resilience to cope with challenging emotional situations.
- Commitment to own personal and professional development.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills.
- Ability to travel to various sites across NELFT.
