Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Research Fellow to join our team at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to undertake high-quality translational clinical research in cardiac electrophysiology and devices, with a focus on conduction system pacing.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in cardiac electrophysiology and devices, with a focus on conduction system pacing
  • Work under the direct supervision of consultant cardiac electrophysiologists in the department
  • Participate in research activities of the department, including data collection, analysis, and publication
  • Develop and implement research protocols, including study design, data collection, and data analysis
  • Collaborate with other researchers and clinicians to advance the field of cardiac electrophysiology and devices
Requirements
  • MB BS or equivalent qualification
  • Current or eligible for full GMC registration
  • Evidence of higher specialist training in cardiology
  • MRCP or equivalent qualification
  • Experience of device implantation, including single and dual chamber pacemakers and defibrillators, and basic diagnostic electrophysiology
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Higher degree (MD/PhD)
  • Experience of teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students
  • Commitment to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students
  • Experience of medical audit and commitment to medical audit
  • Understanding of the place of research and clinical governance
