Senior Building Surveyor Job Description

This role offers an exceptional opportunity for a Building Surveyor to progress and thrive in a dynamic team environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong ambition to excel, excellent client relationship management skills, and a specific interest in project management.

As a Senior Project Manager/Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for delivering multi-disciplinary projects from concept to construction, across our diverse portfolio of challenging projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver projects to agreed targets, including programme, budget, and quality.
  • Develop project objectives with the Project Director and create a strategy for achieving them.
  • Identify and manage potential contractual/commercial risks and escalate to the Project Director as necessary.
  • Work with commercial managers to understand contractual obligations and negotiate amendments.
  • Set project objectives, delegate tasks, and define risk sharing for the project team.
  • Actively manage projects, technically and financially, in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Lead the project team, building motivation, maintaining, coaching, and developing team members.
  • Assemble and own project delivery programmes and plans, providing regular project reports.
  • Closing out projects, archiving documentation, and capturing lessons learned.
Requirements:
  • Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) or equivalent with experience managing design commissions on large building/infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team, demonstrating good leadership qualities.
  • Experience with various construction contracts, including NEC3 and JCT, and preparing project documents.
  • Experience managing design projects to time, cost, and quality objectives, and familiar with programming and earned value techniques.
  • Familiarity with BIM and 3D modelling tools for design and coordination purposes.
  • Valid UK driving licence.
