Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team at ARC Group. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of our construction projects.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying, with experience in managing construction costs, preparing tender documents, and negotiating with contractors. You will be responsible for controlling all expenditure, reconciling cost/value reports, and ensuring value for money and financial assessments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ability to understand and contribute to the development of technical drawings and specifications
  • Controlling all expenditure and ensuring value for money
  • Reconciling cost/value reports and profit forecasts
  • Managing day-to-day cost control and monitoring and reporting
Desirable Experience:

We are looking for a candidate with a strong commercial acumen and a wealth of experience within the residential new build and social housing sector. You should have knowledge of reactive and planned maintenance, comprehensive understanding of subcontractor procurement and cost management, and strong experience with Schedule of Rates, subcontractor management, valuations, etc.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Minimum of 5 years' Quantity Surveying experience
  • BSc Degree in Quantity Surveying would be an advantage
  • Previous experience of pricing planned work and/or repairs and maintenance
  • Proven commercial professional with experience in social housing reactive maintenance and repairs
