About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Midwife to join our Community Midwifery team at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Midwife, you will provide holistic care to women and their families in the antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide midwifery care to women and babies in community settings, including home visits and community hubs.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care.
- Manage individual caseloads, clients, and ward areas.
- Deputise for the Band 7 in community.
- Participate in on-call shifts and provide emergency care as needed.
Requirements
- Registered Midwife with current registration.
- Practising Midwife with recent experience in all aspects of midwifery practice.
- Maintained an up-to-date professional portfolio.
- Training in obstetric emergencies.
- Ability to demonstrate competence in fetal monitoring, medicines management, and safeguarding.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Teaching/Mentoring qualification.
- Experience of mentoring students.
- Competent in Perineal suturing, IV medicines administration, cannulation, and care of women with epidural analgesia.
