Make a Difference in the Lives of Young Vulnerable Deaf People

We are seeking a caring and passionate Support Worker to join our Residential Service for Adults with Complex Needs in Honiton, Devon. As part of our team, you will work closely with other local organisations and services to offer a wide range of activities, hobbies, and educational input to support adults aged 18+ who use British Sign Language to communicate.

The service is looking for candidates with a caring nature and the ability to have fun and engage with the people they support. You will be responsible for encouraging independence, ensuring safety, and following care plans for each individual.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Encouraging independence and supporting individuals to make their own choices.
  • Ensuring the safety of the service users.
  • Following care plans for each individual.
  • Taking service users out into the community.
  • Participating in activities such as arts, crafts, gardening, and day trips.
  • Varying levels of personal care.

Requirements:

  • No experience is required.
  • Must have some knowledge of BSL.
  • Must be resilient.
  • Drivers are essential due to the location.
  • Candidates must be happy to do personal care.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary of £24,793-£26,083 (plus sleeps) + plenty of overtime available, paid at time and a half.
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week + 2 sleeps per week.
