Operations Assistant
This esteemed independent educational institution offers a picturesque environment for both living and working. Core Responsibilities
The role encompasses a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: cleaning, room arrangements, mail handling, laundry services, housekeeping, and waste management. Many of these responsibilities require meeting tight deadlines and collaborating with various departments throughout the institution. Operations Assistants are expected to perform the following duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Key Duties
  • Prepare venues across the campus to meet the required standards for both internal and external functions, including special events held during non-term periods.
  • Provide support during examinations by ensuring the correct setup of furniture, equipment, and necessary materials within designated timeframes.
  • Collect and manage mail from various locations on campus, processing both internal and external correspondence.
  • Oversee logistics on-site, including the collection and proper disposal of waste and recycling.
  • Facilitate the movement and supply of furniture as needed for student buildings or event setups.
  • Manage the central inventory and ensure the timely delivery of cleaning supplies to appropriate locations.
  • Collaborate with the laundry team to collect and return items according to the established schedule.
  • Operate school vehicles, including the Luton tailgate van, when necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness in designated areas of the institution to a professional standard as required.
  • Report to the Operations Supervisor, Assistant Operations Manager, and Operations Manager.
Additional Responsibilities
Attend all mandatory training sessions, including COSHH, Fire Safety, Manual Handling, and Safeguarding. There is an opportunity for First Aid training if desired.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary: £12.00 per hour. Overtime during weekdays and evenings is compensated at £14.52 per hour, while weekend work is paid at £19.09 per hour.
Working Hours
This position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with an unpaid hour for lunch. The role may also involve occasional work on bank holidays to support events.
