Position Overview

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Children's Exercise Physiologist (Band 5) to join the esteemed Paediatric Respiratory Department at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will become an integral part of our dynamic and supportive Respiratory Physiology and Physiotherapy teams.

This rewarding position entails collaborating with a specialized team to conduct Cardio Pulmonary Exercise Tests (CPETs) on young patients. The service encompasses a diverse array of clinical duties, executing various respiratory assessments. The chosen individual will operate within our physiology laboratory, as well as in outpatient clinics and on the paediatric ward, contributing to the development and implementation of treatment and exercise regimens tailored for the children under our care. 2. Clearly explaining procedures to children and their families to ensure understanding.
  3. Implementing treatment and exercise plans effectively.
  4. Performing complex assessments and patient care tasks within the hospital setting, which may occasionally extend to community settings, such as collecting cough swabs or sputum samples, overseeing daily patient exercise, and conducting rehabilitation sessions.

About Our Organization

This position represents a collaborative effort between the physiology and physiotherapy teams. The successful candidate will also engage with a broader multidisciplinary team, which includes nurses, physicians, play specialists, administrative personnel, and healthcare assistants.
