About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in helping students with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND) access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support to students with SEND, working closely with teachers and other support staff to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and support strategies.
  • Foster an inclusive atmosphere that encourages student participation and engagement, promoting a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers to adapt resources and teaching methods to meet the needs of all learners, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to succeed.
  • Support students in developing essential skills, both academic and social, through one-on-one and small group support.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed to ensure that students receive the support they require.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children, ideally in an educational or support setting, with a strong understanding of special educational needs and effective support strategies.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic approach to supporting student development, with a willingness to undertake relevant training and professional development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, taking initiative when required to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.
