Job Title: Manufacturing Process Engineer - Electrification

**Company:** We are a leading manufacturer of electric propulsion systems for future vehicle models.

This role, based within the Manufacturing Engineering (ME) team, focuses on advancing electric propulsion systems for future vehicle models. You will collaborate closely with Product Development Engineers, facility vendors, and suppliers, ensuring high-quality and efficient propulsion designs.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement assembly and in-process test processes and facilities to ensure efficient production.
  2. Plan and develop installation timing plans with key suppliers to meet production deadlines.
  3. Work within a team to plan and implement changes to Module and Battery pack assembly and test lines to improve production efficiency.
  4. Provide feasibility statements for Product Development designs to ensure manufacturability.
  5. Ensure robust process planning, including build simulations and PFMEAs, to minimize production risks.
  6. Support physical builds and raise issues where appropriate to ensure quality and efficiency.
  7. Apply Lean manufacturing and design for assembly principles to optimize production processes.
  8. Ensure adherence to company and departmental operating processes and policies to maintain quality and efficiency.
Requirements:
  1. Experience in Electrical Engineering with a focus on electrical distribution systems and electrical design.
  2. Understanding of automotive manufacturing processes and production systems.
  3. Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on quality and process improvement.
  4. Ability to collaborate across functions to ensure compliance with manufacturing standards.
  5. Familiarity with Design for Assembly (DFA) principles and lean manufacturing techniques.
  6. Willingness to travel, potentially overseas, to support production and implementation.
  7. Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
Performance Metrics:
  1. Delivery of robust assembly processes and equipment to meet production requirements.
  2. Adherence to all systems and processes for new product introduction to ensure quality and efficiency.
  3. Support of PCDS to ensure gateway adherence and minimize production risks.
  4. Zero defect launch and zero accident installation to ensure quality and safety.
