Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Academics Careers. As a Teaching Assistant in a Pupil Referral Unit, you will play a vital role in supporting children with challenging behaviour, helping them to overcome their difficulties and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support small groups of children in the classroom, adapting your approach to meet their individual needs
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement effective learning plans
  • Provide one-to-one support to children with learning difficulties, social, emotional, and mental health difficulties
  • Help to create a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting social and emotional well-being
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of lessons, ensuring that children are engaged and motivated

Requirements

  • Experience working in a Pupil Referral Unit or with children with challenging behaviour
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting children with complex needs
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
