Position Overview

We are thrilled to announce a rewarding opportunity for an Outreach Practitioner to join our dedicated team within the East Riding of Yorkshire Council. This role focuses on supporting students in Key Stage 3 who require an alternative educational approach, particularly within the context of social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

As an Outreach Practitioner, you will collaborate closely with educational leaders to assist targeted students, facilitating their transition back into a comprehensive curriculum. Your contributions will be vital in fostering an inclusive atmosphere and enhancing the overall school community.

This is a permanent position, compensated on the TEAL Associate Pay Scale at point 11, with an annual salary of £21,110.

The standard working hours are from 08:30 am to 16:00 pm, Monday to Friday, during school terms. Additionally, you will receive compensation for an extra 35 hours annually to participate in team meetings and professional development outside of regular hours.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We seek an individual who is genuinely passionate about assisting students in overcoming barriers to their success in education. The ideal candidate will possess a solid educational background, including literacy and numeracy qualifications at GCSE grade C/5 or equivalent. Experience working with students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs is essential, along with the ability to effectively engage with students, their families, and other professionals.

This role necessitates travel to various educational provisions to support student learning; therefore, access to a vehicle or the ability to commute between locations is required.

We are dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. A background check through the Disclosure and Barring Service will be mandatory prior to appointment.
