Position: Educational Support Specialist

Location: Waterloo Lodge School, Chorley, Lancashire

Salary: Competitive annual salary

Hours: 40 hours per week; Monday - Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm

Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

Role Overview

The Educational Support Specialist will assist the teacher and students within a designated group, contributing to a positive learning environment.

In addition to the standard responsibilities of Educational Support Specialists, the individual will:

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with individual and small groups of students on educational tasks.
  • Assist educators in crafting and executing personalized educational plans.
  • Support students across a diverse and inclusive curriculum.
  • Prepare necessary materials and resources.
  • Occasionally transport students for educational outings.

Job Duties

  • Collaborate with teachers to work with individual and small groups of students.
  • Document relevant educational, social, and behavioral information as per established guidelines.
  • Implement agreed-upon educational and behavioral strategies.
  • Encourage the social and emotional growth of students through positive interactions that foster healthy relationships and self-esteem.
  • Accompany class groups on external educational excursions.
