About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Insights Specialist to join our HR Systems & Data team at the University of Hull. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering strategic insights and data-driven solutions to inform business decisions.

As a Data Insights Specialist, you will be responsible for managing routine and planned data requests, as well as unplanned and ad-hoc needs of our stakeholders. You will work closely with our team to develop solutions with insights and dashboards, while supporting the development of our people analytics capabilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining data models and visualizations to inform business decisions
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide tailored solutions
  • Ensuring data quality and integrity through data governance and compliance
  • Providing training and support to the team on data analytics and visualization tools
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in data analytics and visualization

About You

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Proven experience in data analysis and visualization, with a strong understanding of data governance and compliance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively
  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as PowerBI
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
