Key Responsibilities:
- Surface Preparation: Ensure surfaces are ready for coating by cleaning, sanding, or applying primer to achieve optimal adhesion and finish.
- Coating Application: Utilize spray guns, brushes, rollers, or other methods to apply protective coatings, finishes, or paints in accordance with specifications and quality standards.
- Process Monitoring: Oversee coating processes, including thickness, drying times, and curing temperatures, to guarantee compliance with specifications.
- Quality Inspection: Examine coated surfaces for imperfections such as bubbles, runs, or uneven coverage, making necessary adjustments to meet quality expectations.
- Material Mixing: Prepare coating materials, including paints, varnishes, and sealants, following formulation guidelines and industry standards.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and service coating equipment and tools, ensuring they are clean, calibrated, and functioning optimally.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols to prevent accidents and maintain a secure working environment.
- Record Keeping: Document coating activities, including materials used and quality control checks, for accurate reporting.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with production supervisors, quality control inspectors, and engineers to coordinate coating processes and resolve issues.
- Continuous Learning: Stay informed about advancements in coating technology and application techniques through ongoing training and professional development.
- Effective Communication: Engage with supervisors and colleagues to coordinate work schedules and address any concerns to meet production goals.
Holiday Entitlement:
- As a Coatings Application Specialist, you will earn 5.6 weeks of paid holiday each year based on a standard 5-day work week. This includes your statutory entitlement. Part-time employees will receive a pro-rata entitlement.
