About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Hydraulic Fitter to join our team at AMETEK MRO. As a Hydraulic Fitter, you will be responsible for disassembling Hydraulic / Mechanical components down to their sub / individual components.

You will also be responsible for carrying out inspections duties, which range from:

  • Interpreting technical data
  • Fault diagnosis
  • Identifying component wear, damage, or corrosion
  • Using precise calibrated measuring equipment
  • Populating and completing computer-generated documentation

Responsibilities

As a Hydraulic Fitter, your responsibilities will include:

  • Disassembling Hydraulic / Mechanical components down to their sub / individual components
  • Carrying out inspections duties, including interpreting technical data, fault diagnosis, identifying component wear, damage, or corrosion, and using precise calibrated measuring equipment
  • Populating and completing computer-generated documentation
  • Working from technical data to assemble various Hydraulic and Mechanical assemblies, components ready for final testing / final inspection
  • Supporting the test bay engineer by testing various hydraulic / pneumatic units using test procedures and populating test reports on completion
  • Maintaining and ensuring implementation of all standard operating practices and procedures
  • Ensuring strict compliance and implementation of all safety standards
  • Ensuring quality standards are maintained in accordance with CAA, EASA, FAA and company procedures
  • Complying with health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Ensuring quality requirements are always met
  • Performing other duties as required related to Operations or the business needs

Requirements

To be successful as a Hydraulic Fitter, you will need:

  • A background in mechanical or hydraulic engineering
  • Numerate and literate – minimum GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English
  • A high level of numeracy and literacy is required, as well as an ability to interpret and follow in detail compliance manuals
  • An ability to work to tight deadlines is essential, whilst maintaining a high degree of quality, workmanship and compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Ability to work well in multidiscipline/cross-functional teams
  • Customer focused and able to build and maintain robust customer relationships
  • Strong analytical, administrative and organisation skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communicator (written and verbal)
  • Well organised and self-motivated
