Graduate Metallurgist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Metallurgist to join our Technical team at Reed Engineering. As a Graduate Metallurgist, you will play a key role in providing technical support for routine production, ensuring the quality and integrity of our products.

• Review and analyze mechanical and chemical test results to ensure compliance with customer specifications, collaborating with the test laboratory as needed.
• Validate heat treatment charts, both in-house and with sub-contractors, to guarantee accuracy and consistency.
• Verify SAT reports to ensure they meet our quality standards.
• Contribute to the certification process of our products, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements.
• Participate in internal audits and complete them as scheduled by the business, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Process orders and enquiries, including technical contract review, route generation, and assignment, as well as generating quality and method control documentation as needed.

• Hold a degree in Metallurgy or Materials Science, with a solid understanding of the physical metallurgy of steel and nickel-based alloys.

• Demonstrate a proactive and motivated attitude, with a clear drive to achieve results.
