We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Staff Nurse to join our Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading and motivating their team, and contributing to the effective management of the ward.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert nursing care to critically ill children, including those with complex medical conditions and injuries.
- Lead and manage a team of nurses, ensuring they have the necessary skills and support to deliver excellent patient care.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of ward policies and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with trust and national guidelines.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and effective communication.
- Participate in education and training programs to maintain and enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
- Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration.
- Post-registration experience in Paediatric Intensive Care, with a minimum of 6 months in a senior role.
- Ability to assess, plan, and evaluate patient care, with a focus on quality and safety.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Knowledge of trust and national policies, procedures, and guidelines related to Paediatric Intensive Care.
