Job Details

Network Open is seeking a skilled Optical Assistant to join their team in Reading, Berkshire. As an Optical Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the optometrist and carrying out a full dispense visiting patients in Care Homes and patients own homes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the optometrist in carrying out eye examinations and dispensing glasses
  • Visit patients in Care Homes and patients own homes to carry out fittings and aftercare
  • Work independently to carry out fittings and aftercare
  • Provide a sympathetic and empathetic approach to patients, many of whom are elderly and may be unwell

Requirements:

  • Confident driver with a full driving licence for at least 2 years
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
