Quantity Surveyor Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial aspects of project delivery. As a key member of our project team, you will work closely with the Commercial Manager to ensure accurate contract administration, timely payment of invoices, and effective management of project income recovery.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying, with experience in managing project income recovery, valuations, and contract variations. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, project teams, and supply chain partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage project income recovery and ensure prompt payment of invoices.
  • Lead on the valuation, tendering, and submission of contract variations.
  • Work with project delivery teams to ensure accurate contract administration.
  • Liaise with clients to establish value for money on projects and budgets.
  • Identify and communicate commercial risks and opportunities to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Review contract terms and conditions for new project opportunities.
  • Ensure supply chain partners provide best value for money and adhere to agreed contract terms.
  • Notify key stakeholders of key or material changes to projects.
  • Support client initiatives and projects.
  • Provide timely commercial reports, including contract variations.

Requirements:

  • Qualified to HND or Degree Level in Quantity Surveying.
  • Self-motivated with a flexible approach to work, capable of working to challenging deadlines.
  • Mobile and available to travel between sites to meet business needs.
  • Financial and commercial acumen and awareness, including current contract legislation.
