We're seeking a highly skilled Fire Safety Specialist to join our team at Orbit Group, a leading developer of affordable housing in the UK. As a Fire Safety Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our employees, customers, and partners in the South (London/Kent areas).

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Health and Building Safety Assurance Lead in implementing and maintaining a Group-wide Health and Safety Management System. This will involve ensuring legal compliance and advancing the Group's health and safety performance to sector-leading levels.

You will also be a fire safety expert, working directly with fire public services to ensure fire safety for our southern properties. The role requires a strong understanding of fire safety regulations, best practices, and industry standards.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be qualified and competent to undertake fire risk assessments and inspections, and possess a sound knowledge of fire safety legislation and regulations. Travel will be required, and the successful candidate will be based in the South/South East region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend meetings and audits with Fire Safety Authorities to discuss and challenge outcomes.
  • Support the group-wide assurance on CDM and Building Safety compliance and liaise with external agencies as required.
  • Complete FRA's, FRA Audits, and other necessary audits as required.
  • Provide advice, guidance, and support on health and safety-related issues and provide health and safety training to staff as needed.
  • Assist in reviewing and reporting on health and safety compliance across the organization.
  • Liaise with internal customers and external agencies as required and attend Health and Safety Committees.

What You'll Bring:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Qualified and competent to undertake fire risk assessments and inspections.
  • Sound knowledge of fire safety legislation and regulations.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Experience of delivering and monitoring H&S activity across a multi-site organization.
