Position Summary:
This role is an entry-level opportunity within our criminal clerking team based in Sheffield. We are looking for candidates eager to build a long-term career supporting barristers and managing a busy barristers' Chambers.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Junior Clerk, you will be essential in providing a seamless clerking service to our members, which includes:
- Managing diaries and ensuring equitable work distribution
- Recording briefs and instructions
- Checking court and tribunal schedules
- Negotiating fees
- Handling client inquiries via email and telephone
Qualifications:
While prior experience in an administrative role within a legal or professional services context is advantageous, it is not mandatory. Candidates should possess:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Excellent organizational abilities
- A commitment to providing outstanding client service
- A friendly, approachable demeanor and flexibility in collaboration with colleagues and members
An aspiration to develop a long-term career as a barristers' clerk is crucial.
