Job Title: Process Optimization Engineer

Orion Group is seeking a highly skilled Process Optimization Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Production Support team, you will play a critical role in improving asset performance and reducing production losses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the asset focal point for the Production Efficiency and Loss Management process, ensuring seamless communication with cross-functional teams.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into process-related plant failures, identifying root causes and proposing improvement actions to enhance asset performance.
  • Develop and implement process optimization and simplification initiatives to improve asset reliability and production efficiency, while reducing operating costs.
  • Lead process optimization and energy efficiency plant trials, from creation to execution and post-trial reporting.
  • Provide technical support to assets during unplanned shutdowns or delayed start-ups, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
  • Develop effective interfaces with other departments, maintaining a strong communications network and ensuring all activities are carried out in compliance with corporate policy and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a similar engineering role, with exposure to multi-disciplinary teams, production operations, and/or operations support.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex data and produce meaningful results, with experience in process upset troubleshooting, plant performance investigations, and Root Cause Analysis methodology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a flexible team environment.
  • Familiarity with standard process simulation software (HYSYS) and a good working knowledge of relevant UK oil and gas industry regulations and guidelines.
