Highview Medical Centre is seeking a dedicated General Practitioner to join our team on a salaried basis, working four sessions per week, specifically on Thursdays and Fridays.
We pride ourselves on being a supportive and innovative training practice, located in a modern facility. Our team is well-established, with a low turnover rate and consistently high performance in patient satisfaction surveys. As a training practice, we are committed to fostering learning, encouraging new ideas from our staff, and collaborating with our Patient Participation Group (PPG) to deliver exceptional healthcare services. Regular meetings are held with all staff groups to promote continuous growth and development.

Our practice serves a patient population of approximately 10,000, and as a salaried GP, you will be part of a collaborative team that includes:

- 4 Other Salaried GPs

- 2 Nurses
- 1 Healthcare Assistant
- 1 Mental Health Practitioner
- 1 Social Prescriber
We offer a competitive salary, which is negotiable, and utilize various software systems including EMIS Web, Docman, Lexacom, and AccuRx. Training will be provided for those unfamiliar with these systems.
Main Responsibilities
As a General Practitioner at our practice, you will manage a clinic of 15 appointments during each session. These appointments will typically include a combination of face-to-face, telephone, and online consultations, followed by necessary documentation and, when required, home visits. Home visits are generally assigned to allied healthcare professionals and trainee GPs first, ensuring a balanced workload.
All tasks are shared equitably among our Partners and Salaried team, as we prioritize fairness and transparency in our operations.
You will be supported by a well-established team of clinicians and an efficient administrative staff.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
As a General Practitioner, your primary duties will include:
- Adhering to all relevant legislation governing medical practice
- Conducting thorough physical examinations and diagnostic tests
- Maintaining precise medical records for all patients
- Providing lifestyle recommendations to enhance patient well-being
- Prescribing appropriate medications and therapies
- Communicating test results and medical procedures to patients
- Training and mentoring junior doctors and healthcare professionals
- Collaborating with other medical professionals regarding specialized patient needs
Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- A medical degree recognized by the General Medical Council
- Completion of a two-year foundation course in general training and a three-year course in general practice
- Membership in the General Medical Council GP Register
- A valid license to practice as a General Practitioner
- DBS clearance and an annual NHS appraisal
