Exceptional Sous Chef Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our team at a prestigious Rosette Standard Dining Inn in North Yorkshire. This stunning country Inn is renowned for its high-quality food, location, and atmosphere, and has been serving locals and destination diners for many years.

About the Role

As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, including menu planning, stock control, and kitchen management. You will also have the opportunity to work with some of the best local ingredients North Yorkshire has to offer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes
  • Manage kitchen staff and ensure a smooth and efficient service
  • Plan and implement menus, taking into account seasonal produce and customer preferences
  • Monitor and control kitchen stock levels, minimizing waste and optimizing inventory
  • Work closely with the Head Chef to maintain high standards of food quality and presentation
Requirements
  • Proven experience working in a fresh food-led kitchen, preferably in a hotel, gastro pub, or restaurant setting
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire junior chefs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and customers
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours
  • Means of transport, due to the semi-rural location
